Tie-dye Process

What you will need:

Watercolors

Tissues any kind will work

rubber bands or strings

Clingwrap

Iron box

Step 1 : Take tissue and do the desired fold and tie with rubber bands or strings for the tie-dye pattern. I used the Bull’e eye and spiral pattern fold here.

Step 2 : Drop the desired watercolors on the folded tissues, and leave it for drying, usually it takes a few minutes to an hour.

Step 3 : Remove the strings and open the tissues carefully to reveal the patterns.

Step 4 : Usually the tissues will be 2 or 3 ply, so separate all the layers. You will need only one layer for the transfer.

Step 5 : Take Clingwrap and spread over the cardstocks, and heat your iron on dry mode if its a steam iron, heat it on max. Remember to protect all the work area and have plenty of waste paper to cover your projects for the ironing part. Be careful to not use printed papers on the transfer side, as the print might go on your pattern.

STep 6 : Place the tissue over the cardstock with the clingwrap and cover with some papers and iron it for a good few minutes all over the cardstock.

Step 7 : Remove the iron and the transfer will be done as shown in this pictures below

Here you can see the tissues and the tissues with transfer done.

First card

I decided to use this whole panel for the front, and added a die cut and stamped part of the sentiment on the tissue itself. This pattern is called the Bull’s eye pattern.

Second card

This is a spiral pattern and I used it with the base base revealed from edges, as I think it compliments the colors very well. I added adiecut sentiment and a stamped sentiment as well to finish the card.

Third card with tie-dye

This one is a crumble pattern.
