In my DT package this month I received a number of the new liquid watercolours together with some stencils.  I thought I’d do a post about using the two together.  This is something I hadn’t thought to do before but once I tried it, I couldn’t stop!<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>I began on my journey carefully choosing the Dream Big stencil as I thought I could use the watercolours through it easily.  I used watercoloured paper and taped my stencil to the paper then on my glass mat I chose my colours and painted through the stencil after giving each section a wash with water.<\/p>\n

\nI attempted a slight ombre shading going from dark blue to light blue.  I like how it worked out, in particular on the BIG.  I finished my card by adding nuvo drops to give a little texture and matted it on blue card.<\/p>\n

Next, I used the Net Lace stencil on the corner of my watercolour card and used just 2 colours – pretty peony and eggplant through the stencil.<\/p>\n

\nI wet the paper first with my brush then added the colours gtadually throught the stencil.   The outcome reminded me of tie and dye.  Once I was happy with the colours I added a spatter of Eggplant.<\/p>\n

To finish the card I die cut a part of the watercoloured piece and adhered it onto a card blank with a strip of washi tape to the left and a die cut sentiment on the bottom right corner.<\/p>\n

For my final creation, I remembered to take a photo of my desk so you can see how it looked before I peeled the stencil off.<\/p>\n

\nYou can see how I’ve taped the stencil to my glass mat and this time I just used the colours I already had on my glass mat as I didn’t want to waste them.<\/div>\n

\nOnce I peeled off the stencil I decided I couldn’t cut it up and wanted to use the creation in its entirity.<\/div>\n

I matted it onto black card and added a die cut sentiment in black to finish.  I absolutely love rainbow colours so of my 3 creations this is definitely my favourite!  How about you – which do you like best?  I’d love to know in the comments below.<\/p>\n
