{"id":321,"date":"2018-08-15T03:30:00","date_gmt":"2018-08-14T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.craftadda.com\/articles\/happy-independance-day\/"},"modified":"2020-08-26T11:52:27","modified_gmt":"2020-08-26T06:22:27","slug":"happy-independance-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.craftadda.com\/blog\/happy-independance-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Happy Independance Day!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\nHello!<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<span style=\"color: orange;\">Happy<\/span> <span style=\"color: #073763;\">Independance<\/span> <span style=\"color: #38761d;\">Day!!<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<span style=\"color: #38761d;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\nI have some fun and super easy rakhi cards for you to try today!<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\nRakshabandhan, the festival of sibling love is coming up soon and I thought it would be fun to incorporate our national colours with this festive ocassion.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\nFor the first card, I used the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hndmd.com\/craft-supplies\/stencils\/craftangles-6x6-stencil-lace-reloaded-ctcs81\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8216;Lace reloaded &#8216; stencil from Craftangles<\/a> along with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hndmd.com\/craft-supplies\/inks\/tim-holtz-distress-inks-carved-pumpkin-tim43201\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tim Holtz &#8216;Carved pumpkin&#8217; <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hndmd.com\/craft-supplies\/inks\/tim-holtz-distress-inks-mowed-lawn-tim35008\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8216;Mowed Lawn&#8217;<\/a> distress inks to create a pretty background.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\nI made a rakhi using an evil eye charm&nbsp; and some white cord, and placed it in the centre of the background card panel.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\nI then adhered this panel to the white card base.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\nI adhered it to the inside card, using a bit of washi tape.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\nI stamped the sentiments..a combination of sentiments from Flora and Fauna stamps,&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\nWinnie and Walter stamps and Craftangles Stamps (Happy Rakhshabandhan) to complete the card.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\nSuper quick.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\nHere is a video showing you my process.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; stencil from Craftangles along with Tim Holtz distress inks &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hndmd.com\/craft-supplies\/inks\/tim-holtz-distress-inks-carved-pumpkin-tim43201\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carved pumpkin&#8217;<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hndmd.com\/craft-supplies\/inks\/tim-holtz-distress-inks-mowed-lawn-tim35008\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8216;Mowed lawn&#8217;.<\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\nI created a background like I did above, and used the evil eye charm rakhi as the centre.<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\nThis time I used a combination of sentiments from Lawn Fawn and&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\nCraftangles (Happy Rakshabandhan and Happy Rakhi Bro)<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\nHere is a process video for the same.<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\nI used the tricolour ( Tim Holtz <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hndmd.com\/craft-supplies\/inks\/tim-holtz-distress-inks-carved-pumpkin-tim43201\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8216;carved pumpkin&#8217;<\/a> , <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hndmd.com\/craft-supplies\/inks\/tim-holtz-distress-inks-mowed-lawn-tim35008\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8216;mowed lawn&#8217;<\/a> and &#8216;chipped sappire&#8217;) and the &#8216;skyline&#8217; stencil from Craftangles<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\nto create a city skyline scene.<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\nI added clouds using the nature stencil and Tim Holtz <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hndmd.com\/craft-supplies\/inks\/tim-holtz-mini-distress-ink-pad-broken-china-tdp39877\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8216;broken china&#8217;<\/a> distress ink.<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\nSo many brothers and sisters are far away from each other at this time of the year, so,&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n&nbsp;the beautiful sentiment from Craftangles &#8216;Happy rakhi Bro&#8217; stamp set&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\nseemed most appropriate with this background.<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\nI made a rakhi using a heartbeat charm..It seemed perfect with the whole card.<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\nHere is the process video..Do try out this stencil..
