Hello!
I have three watercolour Diwali cards for you today to celebrate the festive season! The ongoing challenge over at Craftangles this month is ‘Festive projects’<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am particularly proud of these cards, as I tried out a new technique (its new for me at least!) and created a bokeh effect on all the three diwali cards.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The technique is pretty straightforward and I have demonstrated it in the video below.
I watercoloured the background using ‘Red Paprika’<\/a> and ‘Moroccon Spice’ liquid watercolours from Craftangles. I did three layers of colour, drying the paper in between each layer. I then used a brush loaded with water to draw circles (large and small) on the background. I kept dabbing it with a rag as I went along. This lifted the colour off the background, leaving a soft bokeh effect. I then added some circles with ‘shooting star’ liquid water colour<\/a> to create the shine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
